My HD keeps making a short noise every 30 seconds, as if it is readjusting it's position or something.

Should I be worried? It's annoying, any idea how to fix it?

Ugh. Probably gonna try format... It's just I'm not sure where my OS and driver CDs are... blrrrrr

I think the noise has finally gone, but I'm having other problems. I am pretty sure those TGP porn sites finally caught up with me.

It depends how old it is, too. It's unlikely that a new HDD would be having read errors.

Have you tried hacking the source code?

If you've got any questions, Fenrir can help.

If it is a new Seagate drive, there have been a lot of problems with them, especially the 7200.11 1TB

I formatted.

It's pretty funny. I was gonna do it after the weekend, in case something went wrong I could go use the Uni internet to recover.

Then I was bored because I have capped net and I was downloading a 50mb podcast. I decided to back everything up while it downloaded.

Then I realised sound didn't work.

Restarted

Completely blank. Nothing worked anymore.

flukey backup.

edit: now to redownload the 50mb podcast

Hahha I don't even have tabbed browsing at the moment. AND I effectively have dial up internet.

This is nostalgic

New model is the 7200.12, I have one, shit works fine.
Also, if it was a problem with a 7200.11 he wouldnt even be able to boot his computer.

This, and I'm fortunate that the 7200.11 I have is just a secondary drive...

Goddamn I have a big problem with my PC.

After using Vista(Satan Incarnate) for a few months now I have been placed into Reduced Functionality Mode all of a sudden, now I have managed to get Explorer working by running command through the address of Firefox which was the only thing available.

But Vista is hellbent on stopping me from escaping the hell that is RFM you see, I would be able to get out of it by simply typing slmgr.vbs -rearm into command, but Vista doesn't want that so it gives me an error saying "Not enough quota is available to process this command" so when I free up some space or whatever it gives me an error which only has the code for it:0xC004D401 with the source being (null).

I assume that is because it was a direct command or something, is there a way to edit the registry or something to get rid of the latter error code?

Thanks in advance if any of you care enough to respond :)
