Mum bought a tape from the RSPCA that had songs by a 'band' called The Exploding Sausages. All the songs were based on some (usually native) animal.
Standout tracks included
-Spider in the Shoe Shoppe
-Jumping Kangaroos
-Wombat Waltz
-Let's Make Chicken Soup (sung by chickens. Pretty fucked up)
After that, before I got into be cool, I listened to my dad's music. Cold Chisel, Pink Floyd, Led Zep and Billy Joel. Thought I was all that cause I knew the words to We Didn't Start the Fire.
Then, the downward spiral into cool music. They were always singles as I became I top 40 whore.
JJ & TFP - Boom Shake the Room
Kriss Kross - Jump
fucking All 4 One - I Swear
and Boyz 2 Men
After that I got The Offspring's Smash album and went from there.

Actually, pretty much this.
I had the Shoop single on tape and Let's Talk About Sex was the b-side. Mum didn't appreciate it being played in the car on the way to school. In grade 6.

Went through a nu-metal phase from 14-16. Limp Bizkit, Korn, Linkin Park, Slipknot etc. Oh yeah and some nigga beats, mostly Eminem and Cypress Hill.
Still think Slipknot were pretty gnarly though.
