I figured since a few around here are fans, it should have a thread.

To be honest at the start I really hated Ted, but the show won me over with Barney's wacky antics, and the Star Wars references. A majority of the episodes were on my friends network, so I downloaded them and watched them over the course of this weekend. I'm up to Season 4, Episode 20. (h)

I am now in love with Robin. And to a lesser extent Lily ... and Barney. )h(

Actually, that reminds me I have to get as much 30 Rock as I can find, one of the best shows ever.

I enjoyed 30 rock, but I only watched it when I was at the Zilla house. I really need to start downloading my own shit.

Which of you was Ted and which was Barney?

Let's just turn this into the 30 rock thread.

So Tina Fey, would hit.

Moller
06-07-09, 10:51 AM
So Colbie Smulders, would hit it.

Although you can tell during the fourth season they were filming when she was pretty far along with her pregnancy

I'm sure Alec Baldwin could convince me to do some things to him.

Moller
06-07-09, 12:43 PM
Shit, I also need to go out and get the third season.

Quatterarbro

Yeh it wouldn't take much for me to turn for him.

Sir Faggot Dibs

So what are everyone's favourite episodes? Mine is probably the one where Barney does a play to get back at Lily, particularly the part that is just him repeating the word "moist".

Moller
09-07-09, 09:26 AM
Where they first discover Robin Sparkles.

Robin Sparkles is pretty awesome.

Between this show and the Harold & Kumar films, I had no idea how funny Neil Patrick Harris was. Or how hot Cobie Smulders is.

Probably seen three-quarters of the episodes at least three times. Awesome show. Barney and Marshall are the shows strongest characters, while Robin is pretty under-rated.

Who draws a ninja star like the Star of David? RIGHT? RIGHT? ANOTHER ROUND! Is my favourite quote at the moment.

LONG TIME NO BRO. When we gonna tear it up? Here’s what’s on the rocket docket. My wife and I put the cheese out at 7, Cranium at 8, at 9 we watch 27 Dresses, everybody’s home by 11. Booya!

Hanging up on you once wasnt enough

Word around the blogosphere is your looking for a new wingman. Just want to let you know I am available. No offence Randy, but this position is Vice President of Awesome and you're under secretary of only okay.

CUMIN UP SARS? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

slapbet - where they discover robin sparkles - is actually one of the highest rated shows on tv.com
i think it is equal to the awesomeness of that episode of seinfeld where they have the bet about seeing who can last the longest without masturbating.

Sir Faggot Dibs
12-07-09, 05:08 PM
One of the funniest parts of that episode is when Barney slaps Marshall three times consecutively. :D

Season 5 has been a bit hit and miss. Slapsgiving 2 was really quite average and suffered primarily because it was a sequel to probably the best episode ever (I brought jello shots, we's gonn' get silly bitchez is probably the best line ever), but Window was a pretty good return to form and the Sexless Innkeeper was the best episode so far in season 5.

The 100th episode should be pretty good, from what I've read. NPH is doing a big song and dance number 'Girls vs. Suits' which stars Stacey Keibler. 14 year old me says niiiice.

It's a shame that season 5 has been so hit and miss after the 4 solid seasons before it. Still has it's moments though.

dickcockpenis

Girls vs. Suits was legendary.

Plus, Stacey Keibler.

Moller
22-02-10, 09:44 AM
was probably the best moment of the season thus far.

I've got seasons 1-2(and a half of 3, wat), I think. Need to get more. How many seasons are 'available' at the moment?

It's at Season 5 right now - which has actually been relatively poor, still entertaining, but often the humour feels forced. The ep that aired last week was probably one of the worst I've seen, and really felt like they were trying to force another 'classic HIMYM'. Kind of like Slapsgiving 2.

Sir Faggot Dibs
19-04-10, 11:47 PM
Episode 19, the one where Barney convinces a woman that he's Neil Armstrong? I thought that was one of the better episodes this season.

MEATBALL

The whole monkey thing was just lame.

I found the way Ted kept trying to get everyone to take his career seriously was endearingly funny.

Season five has fallen some what.

Last week's ep was really really good, hopefully the ep that's gone up today will be just as good.

It's not as consistent, but the best episodes are up there with the absolute best. Girls vs Suits and The Sexless Innkeeper are absolutely brilliant.
